
Google to place all the code for their handset platform in the hands of the masses. Not only does this mean anyone can download and roll a new version of their phone firmware, but it also means absolutely any maker can roll its own Android device. I’m looking forward to an Android-powered toaster oven any day now. What’s worse is Google knows how to protect valued code; Its Maps, Gmail, and Store applications aren’t open source. Figuring out when it’s okay to include one of those in your own application requires a crack legal team with a hotline to the EFF. This is the most benign on this list, and it’s only here because now everyone and their brother is going to make a new “Android-powered” device.

The Android variant found on Google’s Nexus One handset now has an SDK, answering one of the criticisms aimed at the search giant’s foray into hardware. The Android 2.1 SDK includes APIs for creating animated wallpapers, as well as some additional telephony functions and a couple of improvements to interaction with the WebKit browser, all of which are used by Google’s own Nexus One applications and are now available to other developers too.

When finished completing Android 2.0 as the latest update of the operating system for smart phones, Google is reportedly developing Android OS 2.1 as the next generation of the most brand-new.
The news is getting stuck after the other issues mentioned, HTC return filed as the first vendor to try out the OS. GSM Arena reported on Friday (4/12/2009), the Taiwanese vendors will upgrade HTC Hero in order to use Android 2.1. Although still uncertain, the decision will restore Android to ‘nature’ which is identical to the HTC. The Windows Mobile 7 group is split up into many smaller ones, two of which are the search and browser teams. According to job postings on careers.microsoft.com, both teams are looking for Software Design Engineer in Test, also known as internal testers, to help nail down the problems during the development of the next release of the Windows Mobile operating system, after 6.5 devices begin to arrive in the coming months. We already know that the latest mobile implementations of Bing and Internet Explorer will be making an appearance on the Zune HD, but what the teams are doing here goes beyond that.
