The French government plans to levy taxes to a number of Internet companies, like Google, MSN, Yahoo and major advertising companies in other virtual worlds. The tax is like a tax levied on Internet service providers (ISPs) in France.

Later taxes will be used to help fund the music industry and printing. Thus was launched Cnet, Friday (8/1/2010).

According to some circles, like former French culture minister Jacque Toubon, Google is always a profit without considering or discussing the fate of the music industry, or book publishers.

Steps to collect taxes on these companies are expected to grow the creative industries in France.

Currently, the proposal is still in the process of approval of President Sarkozy to be submitted to the legislative process. Sarkozy also will ask for input from a number of circles, including the media. It is estimated that, by collecting taxes on the income of Google, Facebook and other advertising company, French revenue will increase approximately USD28 million.
