News: Symbian Goes Open Source!

Symbian has completed the process of open sourcing its entire code base, in advance of its June deadline. While the release is ahead of schedule, the first phones – expected to be out early next year – will hit the market more than two years after the first Android phone became available. The code is expected to become available on the Symbian developer page on Thursday.

I’m looking forward to an Android-powered toaster oven any day now. What’s worse is Google knows how to protect valued code; Its Maps, Gmail, and Store applications aren’t open source. Figuring out when it’s okay to include one of those in your own application requires a crack legal team with a hotline to the EFF. This is the most benign on this list, and it’s only here because now everyone and their brother is going to make a new “Android-powered” device.

Release: Google Releases Nexus One SDK

The Android variant found on Google’s Nexus One handset now has an SDK, answering one of the criticisms aimed at the search giant’s foray into hardware. The Android 2.1 SDK includes APIs for creating animated wallpapers, as well as some additional telephony functions and a couple of improvements to interaction with the WebKit browser, all of which are used by Google’s own Nexus One applications and are now available to other developers too.

News: Prepare HTC Challenger Nexus One

Although so far HTC has strong links with Google, because often they make a handset for Google, it does not mean the competition between the two cool deep calm.

News: Next Google Phone Nexus One Will Shoot Businessman

Not yet a phone last week released Nexus One, Google is very optimistic they will get the phone warm welcome from consumers. Google even has planned, Nexus One who will next slide is designed specifically for the needs of consumers in the business.

Google executive Andy Rubin mentioned, phone the next generation of Nexus One will still be holding the HTC as the manufacturer. The difference is that the phone will be aimed at users in the business.

Mozilla is starting the year in great shape releasing the first release candidate of Firefox mobile for Maemo devices like Nokia Internet tablet devices, just hours before 2009 came to an end.

Mobile: 2010, 50 Mobile Android Blackberry and the iPhone Challenge

Pressure-based mobile-phone operating system Android to Blackberry and iPhone in the year 2010 will be intensified. Based on studies conducted, research firm CCS Insight, at least there are 50 Android phone will be out next year.
