  • It’s official: Microsoft got it right this time. After the mistake that was Vista, Windows 7 was greeted like the second coming, and it many ways it really was better than its predecessor: less annoying, faster, smoother, more compatible with various pieces of hardware and software.

    Initial sales numbers and market share reports have shown that Windows 7 is on the right track, but today it’s obvious that it will be one of the most successful products in Windows history, as it already caught 10 percent market share, approximately 3 months after it arrived on the market.

    Survey conducted Devil Mountain Software said, 80 percent of the 22,000 computers using OS (Operating System) Windows Xp and relying on IE as their browser.

    News: Microsoft Word and Office sales ban begins

  • A ban on Microsoft selling certain versions of its flagship products Word and Office has begun. The software firm was made to change elements of the software by US courts after a patent dispute with Canadian firm i4i. Microsoft said that it had complied with the court’s ruling and would now offer “revised software” in the US. The court ruling means that Microsoft must also pay i4i damages of $290m (£182m). However, the firm said on 8 January that it had filed another appeal against the injunction.

As of January 1, 2010, the licensing terms for Windows and Microsoft Office have been tweaked so that those that wish to rent, lease, or outsource desktop PCs to third parties with either software can do so by paying an extra fee.

  • Microsoft was smiling happily before the launch of its newest product Office 2010 later, because a result of their sweet time to throw torehkan trial version of Office 2010 beta to the public. According to them, until now the beta version has reached 2 million people.

    “Office 2010 has created a new record for a test. It is clear there is an increase compared with Office 2007 beta then.
