    News: Attack Code Used to Hack Google Now Public

  • The dangerous Internet Explorer attack code used in last month’s attack on Google’s corporate networks is now public.

    The code was submitted for analysis Thursday on the Wepawet malware analysis Web site, making it publicly a vailable. By Friday, it had been included in at least one publicly available hacking tool and could be seen in online attacks, according to Dave Marcus, director of security research and communications at McAfee.   • Mozilla has dumped Firefox 3.7 from the release schedule, replacing it with regular features updates for version 3.6 of the browser.

    Under its original plans, Mozilla would roll out Firefox 3.6 and 3.7 over the course of 2009, each bringing minor improvements to the browser. However, a steady stream of delays to Firefox 3.6 has rendered that goal unobtainable, forcing Mozilla to rethink its release. Continue Reading »
