• Release: Thunderbird 3.1 Beta 1 Released!

      Mozilla has released the first beta of Thunderbird 3.1, code named Lanikai.
      As expected, there’s nothing revolutionary in this release. Instead, it focuses on improved stability for the many changes Thunderbird underwent in version 3.0.

    • Release: Fedora 13 Alpha Released!

      Following a one week delay, the first alpha release for Fedora 13 is now available. The final release of Fedora 13 is not due out until May, but this is the only development release of Goddard before this Red Hat Linux operating system reaches its beta stage.

    • News: Google Announces Public Data Explorer

      Google re-announced new products in Google Labs, which is capable of presenting a series of visual data based on critical data from statistical agencies.
      Google Public Data Explorer is the development of public features search data that Google made last year, which allows statistically significant results quickly.

    • Release: Kernel Linux 2.6.34-rc1 Released!

      Following a two week merge window following the release of the Linux 2.6.33 kernel, Linus Torvalds has announced the first release candidate for the next kernel, to be known as the Linux 2.6.34 kernel.

    • Release: PCLinuxOS 2010 Beta 1 Released!

      PCLinuxOS 2010 Beta 1 features 2.6.32.8 kernel using the BFS scheduler for maximum desktop performance on i686 computers. This kernel supports up to 4 GB of memory. A PAE kernel is available from the Synaptic package manager providing up to 64 GB of memory support. In addition, ext4 support is also available.
